Gov. Andrew Cuomo announces that the Mid-Hudson regional economy will begin phase one of its reopening on Tuesday, May 26.
The region had met the metric in terms of COVID deaths and only required providing training to the several thousand contract tracers in order to meet all seven required metrics for reopening.
The first phase of the reopening loosens restrictions imposed on the construction and manufacturing industries, as well as the wholesale supply chain. In addition, certain retail operations can be expanded for curbside pickup and drop-off or in-store pickup. The phase one designation also affects the agriculture, forestry and fishing industries.
Phase two (not scheduled yet) allows professional services including; Retail, Administrative Support & Real Estate / Rental & Leasing. At this pace, real estate may be available for full re-opening in June.
Realtors plan to maintain safe showing policies such as social distancing, use of PPE and CV19 disclosures. Buyers and sellers who put their plans on hold will be getting ready for a late Spring Market.
