The US House of Representatives voted 427-0 to pass the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act which is winding its way through the legislature and may end up on President Obama’s desk soon. The act amends the Housing Act on 1937 making it easier to condo buyers to use FHA programs, and supports rural and multi family housing loans programs. The act makes payments easier to Public Housing Units, enforces quality housing standards and amends a host of other housing loan and HUD programs to assist renters and owners of federal and private housing.
